I am a applied mathematician working in the field of mathematical modeling in life sciences. In particular, I focus on mathematical tools/methods/approaches that provide new insights into specific questions raised in biology. More specifically, my research focuses on the modeling, analysis and control of biological systems with for main applications in ecology, epidemiology and population dynamics. My main areas of expertise are dynamic systems, mathematical modeling, optimal control, optimization and their applications in crop protection, the epidemiology of plant pests and diseases, and the design of cost-effective and environmentally-friendly control strategies.
